The Middle East Coatings Show returns to Cairo in 2021. Since 1997, this long-standing, successful event has been providing manufacturers and raw material/equipment suppliers to the Egyptian paint and coatings market.
This event offers an extremely cost-efficient way of placing products in front of existing and potential new customers in a highly prestigious environment.
New Format For Mecs:
Following discussion and feedback with both our exhibitors and visitors, we have decided to revert to holding the Middle East Coatings Show every two years in Dubai alternating with Cairo. In 2021, we will also be launching the Middle East Coatings Show in Saudi Arabia in September, offering a further opportunity to expand your business relations in this region.
Egypt is a large and fast-growing country. It is the most-populous Arab nation, the third-most-populous country in Africa and the 14th-most-populous country in the world. As of 2017, the population was some 97.5M, and growing by 2% per year, and crossed the 100M threshold during 2019. According to a Mordor Intelligence report, the local value of paints and coatings grew from US$815M in 2016 - US$854M in 2018, and despite challenges, this trend is set to continue, as a compound annual growth rate of 6.38% is expected between 2019-2024. With this in mind, and increasing demand for affordable housing, robust infrastructure, and other public amenities among the younger generation, the paint and coatings industry in Egypt is really thriving. Nearly 65% of Egypt's population is in the 15 to 59 age bracket and it is this demographic that is driving the demand for housing. Furthermore, the growing trend towards nuclear families is fuelling real estate development, in turn boosting the prospects of paint and coating manufacturers in the country. These developments are creating opportunities that suppliers to the industry should be looking to fully exploit.
